Meet The Doctor

Craig D. Thompson, DDS
General and Cosmetic Dentist 

Dr. Craig Thompson, originally from New England, moved to the Midwest to work in the medical field for ten years prior to entering the exciting field of dentistry.  Determined to achieve his goal of becoming a dentist, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas and Wichita State University in 1980.  Ultimately, he graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Colorado in 1995.

After completing one year at a hospital-based general practice residency in Phoenix, AZ, Dr. Thompson went on to serve as a staff dentist at several group practices in the Phoenix area.  True to his goals, he had the privilege of opening his own private practice, Ventana Family Dentistry, in 2004.  Dr. Thompson brings his core values and professional ethics to his general practice.  His philosophy remains:  "Every patient is an important individual with unique patient needs and deserves my respect and professionalism as well as the best dental care available."

Though the practice names reflects his love of patients of all ages, he most enjoys the satisfaction of rehabilitating patients' smiles through a combination of restorative and cosmetic dentistry.  He accomplishes this through the use of crowns, veneers, orthodontics, whitening systems and innovative dental implants.

Dr. Thompson takes pleasure in continually updating his skills and knowledge through continuing education.  He is proud to be a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, Arizona State Dental Association and the Appliance Therapy Practitioners Association.

In his free time, Dr. Thompson is active in mountain biking, hiking, woodworking and traveling with his spouse and Brittany Spaniel, "Flash".
